Who all is in the east coast or would be visiting New Jersey upon their legalization? This is hitting close to home for me finally and I am looking forward to the industry getting off the ground here. Looking forward to hearing what other people are out here on the east coast!May 5, 2021 at 2:14 pm #32622William BiggsParticipant
I’m in NY and I’m definitely feeling the same way.May 5, 2021 at 5:17 pm #32627
NY is its own beast in itself. With the most sophisticated black market in all of the US, I dont know what they are thinking putting taxing points based on THC % haha. I feel like they are just feeding that market even more. Nonetheless amazing to see it legalizing!May 5, 2021 at 6:46 pm #32632William BiggsParticipant
I agree completely.May 6, 2021 at 10:00 am #32633Brandon AllenKeymaster
I’m from NJ originally!
I think NJ has a big chance to be a powerhouse. If they work their taxation, pricing, accessibility, etc, they will be taking business away from PA, NY, DC, VA, DE, and all the other surrounding states. So many travel through to get to one state or anything via train, turnpike, parkway, etc. Wouldn’t take much to jump off a train, buy some goodies, and head back home to another state. Considering most the states around have some kind of MMJ program, I don’t think many will care about crossing invisible lines…June 20, 2021 at 1:31 am #33258
Well NJ is sure slacking here. I would love to get some news / movement on the regulatory front. Anyone know what is going on by chance?July 9, 2021 at 12:37 pm #33658isl1104Participant
I’m trying to determine the guidelines that will be used to award a delivery license? I understand that these criteria will be officially posted 8/21, but are there any previously proposed rules that may be being used as guidelines?
Oh, BTW- this a great idea. Glad I discovered and an able to participate!July 18, 2021 at 11:07 pm #33982TDBParticipant
I’m currently living in south Jersey. From what I’ve been able to find, mainly off of NORML, the only guidelines in place right now is that you can possess up to 6 ounces and are allowed to give away 1 ounce w/o exchanging money. I’ve reached out to my representative Jeff Van Drew several times w/o any luck. So the state seems to be at a stagnant point.August 19, 2021 at 1:10 pm #34499
Cookies just made a huge entry into the East Coast Market via Terrascend and New Jersey.
Talk about a massive move for a powerhouse of a brand. The east cost is the most untapped market and so much room to grow. I cannot wait to see what the next few years bring!October 6, 2021 at 1:39 pm #36337
Typical Politics…. NJ has stalled their September deadline for applications / requirements yet again.
On a bright note not only did NY take a leap forward ahead of NJ… Looks like PA is looking to do the same thing!
What a great timeOctober 8, 2021 at 11:59 am #36361Brandon AllenKeymaster
The next time I’m back east, I definitely want to go to a dispensary in NJ. Something about buying legal weed in a state I smoked a lot of illegal weed in, will be satisfying hahaOctober 8, 2021 at 12:13 pm #36364isl1104Participant
When you’re going to be in these parts, please feel free to look me up. I can’t help you gain access to dispensaries right now (medical w/ I.D. only) but rec is right around the corner 🙂October 8, 2021 at 1:16 pm #36366
@ Brandon Allen make sure to shoot me a text when you are back this way. Would love to meet up and enjoy some legal East Coast haha. I am in the same boat as you just waiting for PA to make the move.
Looking forward to hopefully a new market bringing some new and difference excitement to the world
